Our boxing classes are an adapted version of the sport which can help to improve your strength, endurance and balance. You can expect a fun, high energy, and high motivation boxing conditioning workout led by an experienced instructor. Your coach will explain and demonstrate the different punches you’ll be using, with options for different levels of experience and fitness. The moves include a combination of large, sweeping punches (crosses, hooks, uppercuts); smaller punches (jabs); squats (ducks); and short, quick steps forward and back. You’ll use boxing gloves and mitts, and also work on the punching bags.
BOXING BENEFITS
Fitness boxing is also a great aerobic exercise which gets your heart pumping and boosts your endurance. Other benefits include:
- Boxing improves your hand/eye coordination
- By changing your position to duck, weave and make quick steps, you can challenge and improve your balance and posture
- Strength - you’re swinging your arms and moving your arms and shoulder muscles, increasing your upper body strength, plus by slightly squatting in a boxers stance you’re activating your core and strengthening your leg and back muscles
- It’s a great mood booster. Working hard and getting that heart rate pumping encourages your body to produce serotonin and endorphins which have huge positive benefits for your mental and physical wellbeing.
